According to a report in Japanese magazine Jump, Square Enix is hard at work at Bravely Second, the sequel to the throwback RPG Bravely Default for the Nintendo 3DS. There is currently no scheduled release date for Bravely Second. Unfortunately, as is the case with most titles coming from the far east, the title has not been confirmed for western markets.
Square has clearly been positioning Bravely Default as another reliable franchise in their stable of RPGs, especially considering the Japanese success of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. And if their prior success wasn’t a big enough indicator, the expanded Bravely Default: For The Sequel has all sorts of tells written right into the title.
No word on a western release of Bravely Second also should not be surprising, especially since Bravely Default is set to launch this month in Europe, with North America to follow in February. They will need to see the game a success before continuing localizing additional titles.
So the best way to get Square’s attention? Buy up all the stock of Bravely Default when it finally launches in the west.
